The following closures will take place in the month of October on Evergreen Lake:

October 1, 2008 – January 18, 2009. Bowfishing closed on Evergreen Lake and all tributaries within the park boundaries. Bowfishing will reopen January 19, 2009.
October 15, 2008 – January 1, 2009. Gas Motors Prohibited around Deer Island and all of Six Mile Creek Bay at Evergreen Lake. Trolling Motors are still allowed around Deer Island and in Six Mile Creek Bay , and Gas Motors are allowed on ALL other parts of Evergreen Lake as well.

Evergreen Lake/COMLARA Park will be closed to general use for the Shotgun Deer Hunts for the following dates: November 21-23 AND December 4-7. ONLY PERMITTED HUNTERS, PARK STAFF, AND LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS WILL BE ALLOWED ON LAKE OR IN PARK.

EXCEPTION TO THIS RULE IS SPELLED OUT BELOW!

BANK FISHING WILL BE ALLOWED AT THE PUMPHOUSE AND IN THE CAMPGROUND COVE AND JONE’S POND ONLY. FISHING FROM BOATS WILL BE PROHIBITED DURING THESE DATES. THE CAMPGROUND WILL ALSO REMAIN OPEN DURING THIS TIME. ALL OTHER AREAS OF THE PARK AND LAKE WILL BE CLOSED DURING THESE DATES.

LENGTH LIMITS

14-inch size limit for Walleye, Sauger, or Hybrid Walleye (Saugeye).
15-inch size limit for Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass.
48-inch size limit for Musky.
9" minimum length and 15 fish creel limit for crappie

WATERCRAFT REGULATIONS

An Evergreen Lake Watercraft Registration is required on ALL watercraft, including sailboards. Registrations can be done at the Comlara Park Visitor's Center or at self-registration drop boxes located at boat launch facilities.

Evergreen Lake Watercraft Registration:

Annual fee $45.00 ( McLean County Residents receive $10 Discount)
Daily Fee $16.00 ( McLean County residents receive $ 4 Discount)
Anglers using boats are limited to using a 10 horsepower (or less) engine.
NO MOTORS ARE ALLOWED ON SOUTHERN SECTIONS OF THE LAKE FROM OCT. 15 - JAN. 1 TO ALLOW FOR MIGRATORY WATERFOWL.
